White Station wins Tennessee's 6A Championship

The first-ever Tennessee 6A football championship goes to White Station.

White Station beat Maryville 37-27 behind an outstanding performance by Julian Burton. KnoxNews.com reports that Burton was named the offensive and defensive MVP.

Beech Wins Tennesse 5A

Beech won its first state football title beating Columbia 47-33 on Friday for the 5A title. Quarterback Jarod Neal led the way with four touchdown passes, which tied a state record.

Giles County Wins 4A Tennessee Title

Giles County won the battle of first time state championship combatants, beating Greenville 21-14 for the Tennessee 4A title.

KnoxNews.com reports that Giles County was led by game offensive MVP Bob Wallace, who threw for 315 yards and rushed for another 62.

Alcoa Wins Record 6th Straight Football Championship

Alcoa beat Milan Saturday 21-0 to capture its sixth straight high school football championship, which establishes a new Tennessee high school football record.

The 3A title also ties the Tornadoes with Maryville for the most all-time football championships with 11.

The Daily Times reports that in addition to another state titles, Alcoa also achieved another goal.

Trousdale County Captures 2A Title

Trousdale County moved-up to 2A after capturing the 2008 1A title, but the results remain the same. The Yellow Jackets beat Boyd-Buchanan 13-7 to win the school's eight state football championship.

The Chattanoogan.com reports that Trousdale County was led by Tacola Seay, who played big on both sides of the ball.

Union City Wins 1A Title on Last Second FG

Union City beat South Pittsburg 31-29 for the Tennessee 1A state football championship. Chattanoogan.com reports that the Golden Tornadoes won it on a field goal with 6.7 second to go in the game.
