Signal Mountain Claims First Tennessee High School Football Title

Signal Mountain set a state record for offense on the way to the school first high school football championship.

The Eagles beat Trinity Christian 56-28 Friday to capture Tennessee's Class 2A state title.  It was the first championship game for both schools.

Signal Mountain set a TSSAA state record for most yards in a game with 688 yards in total offense.  In all, six records were broken in the game that saw both teams combine for 1,118 yards in total offense.

Trinity Christian quarterback Jabriel Washington, who has given his verbal commitment to Alabama, threw for a state record 372 yards and two touchdowns.
