Alcoa Rolls to 7th Straight Tennessee High School Football Championship

Alcoa scored on its first eight possession to beat Goodpasture 56-14 Friday to capture the Tennessee Class 3A state title, its seventh straight state championship overall.

The Tornadoes have now won their seven titles (2 in 3A, 5 in 2A) by a combined score of 278 to 88.  It's the fourth time since 2005 that Alcoa has beaten Goodpasture for the state total.

Alcoa has now won 43 straight games.

Signal Mountain Claims First Tennessee High School Football Title

Signal Mountain set a state record for offense on the way to the school first high school football championship.

The Eagles beat Trinity Christian 56-28 Friday to capture Tennessee's Class 2A state title.  It was the first championship game for both schools.

Signal Mountain set a TSSAA state record for most yards in a game with 688 yards in total offense.  In all, six records were broken in the game that saw both teams combine for 1,118 yards in total offense.

Trinity Christian quarterback Jabriel Washington, who has given his verbal commitment to Alabama, threw for a state record 372 yards and two touchdowns.

South Pittsburg Wins Another Tennessee High School Football Championship

South Pittsburg beat Jo Byrns 41-6 Friday to win Tennessee's 1A state football championship, which now gives the Pirates five state crowns.

Senior running back Raquis Hale was the game's offensive MVP. He rushed for 228 yards and five touchdowns. His teammate Coltin Blevins was named the game's defensive MVP.
